Afternoon drizzle adds chill to air

New Delhi, Mar 11 (UNI) A brief drizzle caught Delhiites by surprise this afternoon, making the weather pleasant and adding a chill to the air.

However, the drizzle of 0.2 mm was short lived.

It brought down the maximum temperature by 3 degrees below normal to 27.2 degrees Celsius although the minimum stayed normal.

In an indication of the rough weather in the near future, humidity has been on the rise, registering 78 as maximum and 32 as minimum today.

The weathermen forecast a cloudy sky tomorrow, punctuated with brief spells of rain. They also warned of a thunderstorm and a hailstorm.

The temperature is expected to be at 28 degrees Celsius and 16 degrees Celsius as maximum and minimum respectively.

23 militancy affected families paid compensation in north Kashmir

Srinagar, Mar 11 (UNI) The Jammu and Kashmir Government has sanctioned ex-gratia relief to 23 militancy affected families in the frontier district of Kupwara, an official spokesman said today. The District Level Screening Committee (DLSC) took a number of cases of militancy affected families in the Kupwara district. CRPF to replace BSF in Kashmir

Srinagar, Mar 11 (UNI) The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel will soon replace the Border Security Force (BSF) in North and South Kashmir. A month-long pre-induction training of ten battalions of the CRPF, replacing the BSF, has almost been completed and the troops are now ready to take up the job, a CRPF spokesman told UNI.
