About 25 pc polling registered in Ahmednagar Dist

Ahmednagar, Mar 11 (UNI) About 25 per cent polling was registered till 1400 hrs from 14 talukas of the 75 Zilla Parishad seats and 150 Panchyat Samiti of the district.

Talking to UNI District Collector Umakant Dangat said barring some incidents of bogus voting in Mandavgaon of the district, the polling has been peaceful.

He said he has asked Additional Superintendent of Police to investigate ''bogus voting'' in Mandavgaon.

Mr Dangat said a case of violation of the model code of conduct was also reported as supporters of a Congress candidate in Sangamner taluka at Sabargaondhule in the district were found distributing liquor from two jeeps last night.

''The jeeps have been impounded, but it is difficult to say whether it belongs to the candidates or their supporters. It will be clear by late evening,'' he added.

Polling began at 0730 hrs and will end at 1700 hrs.

Two labourers killed after van overturns in Beed Dist

Beed, Maharashtra, Mar 11 (UNI) Two sugarcane labourers were killed on the spot and another seriously injured when a van in which they were travelling turned turtle near Dharur, about 50 km from here, today. The mishap occurred at around 1000 hrs. The labourers were en route to cast their votes in the ZP-PS elections at Kothegavan, police said, adding that the injured have been admitted to the District Civil Hospital. UNI.....

Congress secures highest number of seats in Sangli

Guj govt to hold Yogasan training camp for its legislator

Gandhinagar, 15 Mar (UNI) Gujarat government will hold a special Yogasan training camp for its legislators, here from March 16 to 23. Sarvopari Arogya Trust of Vadodara Harishbhai Vaidya will conduct the camp. Mr Vaidya teaches Yoga in Gujarat Police (armed) Unit.
