Subhash Kumar appointed Principal Secretary to Khanduri

Dehradun, Mar 10 (UNI) Garhwal Mandal Commissioner Subhash Kumar was today appointed Principal Secretary to Uttarakhand Chief Minister Bhuwan Chandra Khanduri.

This was the first reshuffle of officials after the change of government.

According to Additional Secretary (Personnel) S S Rawat, Mr Kumar would also continue with his present portfolio as Commissioner of Garhwal.

Mr Rawat added that the present Secretary to the Chief Minister, D K Kotia has been relieved from his duty. However, Mr Kotia's other responsibilities are intact.

Mr Arunendra Singh, Senior Finance Officer, Payment and Audit Office, Uttarakhand House, New Delhi has also been transferred as Special Duty Officer of Uttarakhand Chief Minister.

One killed and 36 injured in Kashmir accidents

Srinagar, Mar 10 (UNI) One person was killed and 36 others were wounded, four of them critically, in two road accidents in the Kashmir valley today, official sources said. Official sources said one person was killed and six others were injured when a vehicle in which they were travelling from Jammu to Srinagar met with an accident at Shaitan Nullah on the highway. The injured were admitted to hospital. They said 30 people were injured when a bus carrying them.....

Only policy of zero tolerance can curb terrorism: Pranab

Snow and rain in HP plummet temperatures

Shimla, Mar 10 (UNI) Heavy snow in the higher regions areas and widespread rains in mid and lower hills of Himachal Pradesh during the last 24 hours have plummeted temperatures in the entire state, met office said today. Higher altitude areas of Kinnuar, Lahaul Spiti, Chamba, Kullu, Shimla, Mandi and Kangra districts experienced fresh spell of heavy snow, while mid and lower hills, including Shimla town, were lashed by rains since early morning.
