Revenue and Disaster Management department created

Guwahati, Mar 10 (UNI) A state-level Revenue and Disaster Management Department has been created by amalgamating the existing Revenue Department and Relief and Rehabilitation Department.

Work undertaken by these departments will now be dealt by the newly-created department, including all works related to disasters, natural or man-made.

After the new department comes into action, the Directorate of Land Records and Survey and the Directorate of Land Acquisition, Requisition and Land Reforms (DLRAR) will automatically come under the administrative control of the Revenue and Disaster Management Department.

The administrative department for the Assam Board of Revenue will be this new department, says a Government Notification, issued to this effect here today.

Amarinder disappointed by results, shall introspect

Chandigarh, Feb 27 (UNI) Conceding the Congress defeat in the Punjab Assembly elections, Chief Minister Amarinder Singh today said he was a little disappointed by the results.
