Rain or thundershowers likely in Orissa, Haryana and Punjab

Pune, Mar 10 (UNI) Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at a few places in Orissa, Haryana, Punjab and Rajasthan and at isolated places in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya, Gangetic West Bengal, west Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chattisgarh, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Kerala and Andaman and Nicobar Islands and Lakshadweep.

Rain or thundershowers have occurred at many places in Himachal Pradesh and at a few places in Punjab and at isolated places in Orissa, Haryana, west Rajasthan and east Rajasthan.

Mainly dry weather prevailed over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, West Benagal and Sikkim, Jharkhand, Bihar and Uttar Pradesh.

Rain or snow have occurred at isolated places in Uttaranchal and Jammu and Kashmir.

Day temperatures were appreciably above normal in some parts of Jammu and Kashmir and Rayalseema and were above normal in some parts of Assam and Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Rajasthan, Telangana, Tamil Nadu and coastal Karnataka and were below normal in some parts of West Bengal and Sikkim, Orissa, east Uttar Pradesh and Gujarat. They were normal over the rest of the country.

Night temperatures were appreciably to markedly below normal in some parts of Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Bihar, east Uttar Pradesh and south interior Karnataka and were normal in some parts of Himachal Pradesh and madhya Maharashtra and in remaining parts of Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura and east Uttar Pradesh. They were appreciably above normal in some parts of Orissa, Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Chattisgarh and Andhra Pradesh and were above normal in some parts of Uttaranchal, Madhya Pradesh and Tamil Nadu. They were normal over the rest of the country.

Jindal steel achieves three million tonnes capacity

Raigarh, Chhattisgarh, Mar 10 (UNI) Jindal Steel and Power Ltd (JSPL) has achieved an annual iron-making capacity of three million tonnes with the commissioning of a new blast furnace at its plant here. JSPL Executive Vice-President and Managing Director Naveen Jindal said JSPL was considering further expansion to take the Raigarh plant's iron-making capacity to six million tonnes (MT) per annum. He said the company had already signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the state government whereby it plans to invest.....
