Mercury spurts in parts of AP

Hyderabad, Mar 10 (UNI) Signalling the coming summer, mercury rose in parts of Andhra Pradesh in the last 24 hours as dry weather prevailed over the state.

The highest maximum temperature of 40 deg C was recorded at Kadapa in the Rayalaseema region, the Weather Office said here today.

The maximum temperatures were above normal at a few places over Rayalaseema while it was normal over Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

The minimum temperatures were above normal over Rayalaseema and at many places over Coastal AP and Telangana.

The lowest minimum temperature of 19 deg C was recorded at Hakimpet Airport.

Isolated rain or thundershowers are likely over Coastal AP, Telangana and Rayalaseema in the next 24 hours.

Hyderabad will have partly cloudy skies. There were chances of thundery development during evening or night. Maximum and minimum temperatures will be around 36 and 21 deg C respectively.

New housing numbering system soon in temple town

Tirupati, Mar 10 (UNI) As part of the statewide pilot project to rationalise housing numbers, a new housing numbering system would be implemented in the Corporation limits soon. Students skate with a message

Chennai, Mar 10 (UNI) With an aim at creating awareness among the public on the importance of wearing helmet, the Velammal Matriculation Higher Secondary School today organised a roller skating programme. More than 100 agile Velammalians, studying in LKG to sixth standard, participated in the programme. The awareness programme was organised at a time when the Tamil Nadu Government was seriously thinking of making wearing of helmet compulsory to prevent head injuries during accidents.
