Congressman shot dead in Asom

Guwahati, Mar 10 (UNI) Suspected ULFA militants gunned down a Congress panchayat president from Hajo in Kamrup district today rptg today, police said.

Police said two militants pumped in bullets into Congress leader Munin Bharali at Chencha near Hajo while he was on his way to Guwahati.

Mr Bharali was declared 'brought dead' at the Guwahati Medical College Hospital(GMCH).

Meanwhile, police recovered two improvised explosive devices (IEDs) at Gumi under Chaygaon police station in Kamrup district.

Hard core MCCI ultra arrested

Bokaro, Mar 10(UNI) Police today arrested a hardcore Maoist Communist Centre of India(MCCI) ultra from Khairachatar village under Kasmar police sation in Jharkhand's Bokaro district today. Superintredent of Police Priya Dubey said the ultra, identified as Sukharam Murmu, alias Sukhlal, was involved in more than 12 Naxalite operations mainly murder, looting and extortions in the area. Sukhlal, also the armed squad leader of the outfit, was earlier caught and put behind bars. However, he was relased on bail, Ms Dubey said......

Financial institutions to cooperate in development: Nitish

Munger, Mar 10 (UNI) Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today said that a number of national and international financial institutions were ready to cooperate with the government in their quest to accelerate the pace of development in Bihar.
