Agitation against the verdidct continued in the Cauvery Basin

Mysore, Mar 10 (UNI) Protest and agitations continued against the final award of Cauvery Water Disputes Tribunal in the Cauvery basin districts of Mandya, Mysore and Chamarajanagar today.

At Mandya, the daily wage workers took a procession against the verdict while various religious heads of Mallavalli also participated in the agitiation.

At Srirangapatna, Karnataka Rakashna Vedike President Narayana Gowda led the rally while the farmers and others of Ganjam village staged road blockade( Rastaroko) on the Mysore-Bangalore Highway.

Meanwhile, the Cauvery Rita Rakshna Samithi led by G Made Gowda plans to hold a meeting with farmers and leaders in all in seven taluks of the district to chalk out a future course of action.

Hotels observe bandh to protest the action of authorities

Bangalore, Mar 10 (UNI) Hotels and restaurants here this afternoon downed the shutters of their business establishments protesting against the locking of a hotel by Hubli Dharwad City Municipal Corporation authorities this afternoon. CSB acquires NFS membership to enable customers to use 8345 ATMs

New Delhi, Mar 16 (UNI) South India centric Catholic Syrian Bank (CSB) has become a member of the National Financial Switch (NFS), which will enable its customers to use 8,345 ATMs of 24 banks. Centre sanctiones a company of India Reserve Battalion

Mysore, Mar 10 (UNI) Karnataka Director General of Police K R Sreenivasan today said that a company of India Reserve Battalion has been sanctioned by the Centre. Speaking to media persons here he said that this battalion comprising of 1,000 personnel has been approved by the Centre and would be stationed at Munirabad near Koppal.
