US embassy express concern over Prachanda's allegation

Kathmandu, Mar 9 (UNI) The US Embassy in Kathmandu has expressed deep concern over a public allegation of a plot to assassinate US officials posted in Nepal.

The Maoist leader Prachanda raised this issue yesterday at a mass meeting in Pokhara.

According to the media reports Prachand alleged there is a plot to kill US officials in Kathmandu and blame the Maoists.

Reacting to the his statement, the US embassy in its press release today said, ''The security of American citizens in Nepal is the Embassy's highest priority." "Therefore, if the Maoist leader has evidence to support his statement, then he should immediately share that information with the Embassy and with the appropriate police authorities. This is the proper way to deal with such matters. If he has no such information, then his remarks are both irresponsible and dangerous.'' "We again urge the Maoists to contribute to a peaceful democratic transition in Nepal by renouncing violence, once and for all" the statement further said.

Iran asks Russia to complete Bushehr nuclear power plant on schedule

Moscow, Mar 9 (UNI) Iran has asked Russia to complete Bushehr nuclear power plant on schedule. Currently, an Iranian delegation led by deputy director of Iran's Atomic Energy Agency, Mohammad Saidi is in Moscow to discuss and settle the controversial financial issues facing the project. Hindu prayer in Nevada State Legislature

Washington, Mar 9 (UNI) History will be created when Director of Public Affairs of Hindu Temple of Northern Nevada Rajan Zed will offer Hindu prayers at the opening of the Nevada State Assembly session on March 19 and Nevada State Senate session on May 7, both in Carson City. Sunita relishes 'saag-paneer,chole in space

Washington, Mar 9 (UNI) Flight Engineer Sunita ''Suni'' Williams, who arrived on the Space Shuttle STS-116 Discovery on December 11, 2006, for a six-month tour of duty, found saag paneer and chole in her ''bonus containers''which she shared with her crew mates. ''Maybe a little too hot for some'' without rice, roti or raita, she said.
