Spot silver, gold declines on poor industrial demand

Mumbai, Mar 9 (UNI) Spot Silver and Gold declined today on poor industrial demand in the closing session, traders at the Bombay Bullion Association said.

Following are the closing rates of Silver and Gold: Silver (per kg) 999 fineness grade : Rs 19,540 (19,615), Gold (per 10 gm): Gold 99.5 purity standard mint : Rs 9,415 (9,425), Gold 99.9 purity pure Gold : Rs 9,460 (9,475).

Rupee opens stronger at 44.25/30 per USD

Mumbai, Mar 9 (UNI) The Rupee today opened firmer at 44.25/30 per US Dollar from its previous close of 44.50/52 as firmer Asian stock indices led to belief that global equity markets are coming back to normal. However, the dollar's rally versus the yen and marginally weaker local stock indices kept the rupee's gains on hold.
