Sical sets record in steam coal handling

Chennai, Mar 9 (UNI) Sical Logistics Limited, a leading provider of integrated multi-modal logistics for bulk and containerised cargo, set a record in steam coal handling with a total of 54,552 tonne in 20 hours and 37 minutes at the Ennore Port, here.

The company rewrote its own previous record of 53,639 tonne, set on October, 21, 2004, an official release said here today.

Sical Logistics Ltd has been operating a Coal Terminal at Ennore port since February 2002.

Till date the Terminal had achieved a handling limit of 37.83 million tonne and has an overall capacity to handle ten million tonne annually.

The Terminal uses mechanisation of coal vessels unloading which provides a sustained delivery of 4000 tonnes per hour.

AP Cabinet approves spl allowance for cops

Kerala budget gives thrust for revival of PSUs

Daily ATR flight to Agatti from July

Thiruvananthapuram, Mar 9 (UNI) Alliance Air, a subsidiary of national carrier Indian, will introduce a new daily service between Kochi and Agatti in the Lakshadweep Islands from July this year. The operation of the ATR-42 service would be more than double the capacity offered by Indian on this route.
