Rains likely in Rajasthan

Jaipur, March 9 (UNI) Rajasthan today experienced pleasant weather due to partly cloudy sky and cold winds.

The Met department has predicted rainfall in the north-western parts of the state accompanied with thunder and lightening. The sky is likely to remain partly cloudy in many parts of the state.

The Met office said the minimum temperature would hover around 16 degrees Celsius while the maximum would notch up to 28 degrees in the next 24 hours.

The minimum temperatures across the state is rising slowly with Barmer recording 20 degrees. But, Udaipur remained the coldest among the plains, touching 11 degrees.

The minimum temperature here was recorded at 16 degrees.

According to the weatherman, Ajmer recorded 18, Bharatpur 15, Dholpur 14, Pilani and Dabok 13 each, Jhalawar 14, Kota 16, Rawatbhata 19, Sawai Madhopur 17, Bundi 18, Jaisalmer 18, Jodhpur 17, Mount Abu 10 and Bikaner 19 degrees.

Haryana will fight for Rabi-Beas water share: Kidwai

Chandigarh, Mar 9 (UNI) Haryana Governor A R Kidwai today reiterated the firm commitment of the state government to get Haryana's complete share in Ravi-Beas waters through Sutlej-Yamuna Link (SYL) Canal. ''Concerted efforts are being made to have the matter decided expeditiously. The government is determined to protect the legitimate rights of the state and its people in this regard,'' the Governor said while addressing the members of the State Assembly on the first day of the Budget Session. Apologise or face action, asserts Bali

Shimla, Mar 9 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh Transport and Tourism Minister G S Bali today asserted that the BJP should either apologise for levelling false corruption charges against him or face the consequences for it. Participating in the debate on general budget proposals for 2007-08 in the Vidhan Sabha, he said since the BJP had tarnished his image by leveling false allegations of corruption against him, they should either apologise or face action. Mr Bali said the opposition was free to bring.....

Haryana gets Rs 22,000 cr investment in 2 years

Chandigarh, Mar 9 (UNI) An investment of Rs 22,000 crore has been made in Haryana during the past two years of the present government and an investment of Rs 53,000 crore is in the pipeline. This was stated by Haryana Governor A R Kidwai while addressing the Budget Session of the State Assembly which began here today. During this period, the state had also received Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) of Rs 1499 crore as against the total FDI of Rs 8100.....
