Public awareness drive under Bharat Nirman Yojana

Patna, Mar 9(UNI) A five day public information programme under Bharat Nirman Yojana would be held at Mushahri in Muzaffarpur district from March 13.

Deputy Director of Press Information Bureau Bhageshwar Jha, All India Radio's (Patna) news editor Arun Kumar Verma and news editor of Doordarshan (Patna) Vijay Kumar told newspersons here that people living in remote areas would be given informations about the centrally sponsored developmental schemes under the drive.

They said programmes for Bharat Information, 15 point programme for the minorities, National Rural Health Mission, National Rural Employment Gurantee Act, Old Age pension, Annpurna scheme, Antyodaya food grain scheme, Right to Information Act, National Literacy Mission and Mid-day meal schemes had been included under the programme.

They said that stalls of 20 different departments would be set up under the drive during which the North Bihar Rural Bank and Central Bank of India would distribute loan among the beneficiaries of different schemes.

Incidentally, loan to the tune of Rs 13.5 crore were distributed in a similar programme held at Vaishali in November 2006.

Railway installs first anti-collision device

Guwahati, Mar 9 (UNI) The Indian Railways today started using a highly sophisticated Anti-Collision Device(ACD) which has been installed between Alipurduar and Lumding of the North East Frontier Railway. The Anti-Collision Device (ACD), a satellite-based technology, developed by the Konkan Railway Corporation, would provide additional safety shield at both manned and unmanned level crossings through an audio-visual indication system to road users. Samsung India aims 100% growth in sale of LCD monitors

New Delhi, Mar 9 (UNI) Cashing in on the dropping prices of LCDs, electronics major Samsung India today launched three new models of its liquid crystal display monitors and said it is targeting a 100 per cent jump in their sales during the year. Crucial EPFO Board meeting tomorrow
