Police solve case of fraud and embezzlement

New Delhi, Mar 9 (UNI) With the arrest of an imposter IT professional, police have solved a case of fraud and embezzlement of Rs one crore.

Gaurav Sharma (20), was arrested on March 2 from Lucknow for cheating complainant Saurav Chatterjee, Director Planmen Consultants India Pvt Ltd.

The accused had signed a bogus agreement with Saurav to arrange for a business contract relating to data conversion valuing Rs 36 crore per year. He had withdrawn the entire amount of the contract money from the complainant's bank account.

In Lucknow, Gaurav was masquerading as President of Poorva TV, a bogus company.

Police said Gaurav is a habitual cheat and was involved in several cases in Punjab.

Manjunath murder case judgement on Mar 23

Lakhimpur Kheri, Mar 9 (UNI) The district court will pronounce judgement on March 23 in the sensational Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) marketing official V Manjunath murder case. There are a total of eight accused in the case. Meanwhile, the counsels today cited precedents in the case. Manjunath's bullet-riddled body was found in the nearby Sitapur district on November 19, 2005. A car was also recovered in the case. TDP to organise stir on insufficient budget allocations

Vegetable vendor summoned by Haryana Railway cops

Sangrur, Mar 9 (UNI) A vegetable vendor in Malerkotla has been summoned to appear before the General Railway Police (GRP), Ambala Cantt in Haryana. The summons, dated March 6, were served on the vendor, Mohammed Ramzan, a resident of Jatpura mohalla in Malerkotla. Though the reasons for summoning the vendor were not mentioned, but according to Mohammed Ramzan, the GRP probably wanted to question him in connection with the bomb blasts on board the Samjhauta Express near Panipat last.....
