Parliament to discuss General Budget next week

New Delhi, Mar 9 (UNI) The Lok Sabha will take up for discussion the General Budget and Demands for Grants next week and pass the first phase of the Budget by March 15, Parliamentary Affairs Minister P R Dasmunsi said today.

He told mediapersons here that the Railway Budget, followed by the General Budget, would be taken up for discussion in the Rajya Sabha next week. While the Railway Budget would be passed next week, the General Budget would be passed on March 18.

Expressing satisfaction at the successful adoption of Motion of Thanks to the President's Address in Parliament, Mr Dasmunsi thanked the Opposition for extending fullest cooperation with the Government in this regard.

The Budget Session of Parliament will take a recess on March 28 till April 18, he said.

Japanese teacher killed in accident

Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh, Mar 9 (UNI) A Japanese teacher was killed and three others injured when their car collided with a bus at Sakri near here last night, police said. The police said Ms Tomako Batnave (40), who headed an eight-member delegation of Japanese students visiting India under an exchange programme, succumbed to her injuries at a hospital here.
