Mughal Gardens will remain open on Mondays also

New Delhi, Mar 9 (UNI) The Mughal Gardens of Rashtrapati Bhavan, including the musical garden, the spiritual garden, the herbal gardens and the bio-diversity park, will remain open on the next two Mondays -- March 12 and 19.

The gardens were opened for public viewing on February 10 and were to remain open till March 18, except on Mondays, the 'maintenance day'.

The gardens opens for public viewing at 1030 hrs. The entry into the gardens is from gate No. 35 of the President's Estate, which is located at the extreme end of the Church Road, about 300 meters west of the Cathedral Church. To avoid any inconvenience to them, visitors are requested to reach the entry gate upto 1630 hrs and all those who are in queue will be allowed entry into the gardens.

So far, more than 2.5 lakh people have already visited these gardens. Fragrant roses are the new attraction of this year. A new fragrant rosarium has been developed in the Terrace Garden. Roses from India and abroad have been planted in 36 different beds amidst China Orange trees.

Visitors are requested not to bring any articles, including water bottles, briefcases, handbags/ladies purses, umbrellas, cameras, radios/transistors, cell phones, arms/ammunitions and eatables. Such articles, if any, will not be allowed to be carried into the Gardens, but facilities are there to deposit these at the entry point.

Facilities of drinking water, first aid, waiting room and public conveniences are also available inside the gardens.
