Man Kills wife, hangs himself to death

Rajkot, Mar 9 (UNI) A middle-aged man allegedly axed to death his wife over some petty issue and later hanged himself to death at Wankaner town of the district.

Police said the incident came to light when Bhupat, son of the deceased, Kanjibhai (50), returned from work yesterday and found his parents dead in the room at Milplot area of Wankaner town. The body of the woman was found lying in a pull of blood while the husband's body was found hanging from the ceiling.

Bhupat told police his father, Kanjibhai, had quarreled with the former's mother Rukhiben (45), over some petty issue, might be the cause of the tragic end.

Polling peaceful in Thane

Thane, Mar 11 (UNI) Except for two polling stations, the Zilla Parishad and Panchayat Samitis election in Thane district passed off peacefully without any major incidents. 60 to 65 per cent polling recorded in ZP, Panchyat Samiti polls

Pune, Mar 11 (UNI) Polling in the 13 talukas of the district recorded a voter turnout of 60-65 per cent for 75 seats of the Zilla Parishad and 150 seats of Panchayat Samiti. Polling went off peacefully in the district expect for an incident where two persons tried to break a voting machine in Khed Shivapur.
