Justice V K Bali appointed CAT Chairman

New Delhi, Mar 9 (UNI) Mr Justice V K Bali has been appointed as Chairman of Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT).

A retired Chief Justice of Kerala High Court, he assumed his new office yesterday.

As a practising lawyer, he was elevated as a Judge in the High Court of Punjab and Haryana in March 1991. He served as a Judge in Rajasthan High Court before being apointed the Chief Justice of the Kerala High Court.

As a High Court judge, he delivered several landmark judgments on legal issues of public importance.

New Delhi, Mar 9 (UNI) Justice V K Bali who retired as Kerala High Court Chief Justice six weeks ago took over as Chairman of the Central Administrative Tribunal yesterday, officials said today. ''He assumed office as Chairman CAT on 8th March,'' a statement by the Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions Ministry said. Delhi to have museum on Bhagat Singh

New Delhi, Mar 9 (UNI) Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit today said her government will build a museum dedicated to Bhagat Singh this year, which is his birth centenary. Srinagar, Mar 9 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir police killed a listed militant in an encounter in south Kashmir last night, a senior police officer said today.
