IT raids on builder premises in AP temple town

Tirupati, Mar 9 (UNI) Income Tax sleuths raided the houses and office belonging to a prominent city-based builder in the temple town today.

According to official sources here, IT Department sleuths from Hyderabad along with local officials conducted raids at various places, including Chinna Bazaar where the builder, Mr Rajashekara Gupta's residence was located.

The searches were still on and unaccounted money may run into several crore, according to sources. The exact amount can be determined only after the searches were complete, they said.

Abu Salem's lawyer says he is receiving threatening calls

Mumbai, Mar 10 (UNI) Underworld don Abu Salem's lawyer Adv Ashok Sarogi has lodged a complaint with police saying he has been receiving threatening calls from gangster Ravi Poojari who wants him to withdraw from the 1993 serial blasts case. Adv Sarogi, who is representing Salem in the 1993 serial blasts case as well as in other cases, stated that the calls have emanated from Australia. In his complaint, Adv Sarogi said he had received two such phone calls so far......

UlFA, Moily Report key omissions in President's Address: Advani

New Delhi, Mar 1 (UNI) Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha L K Advani today slammed the UPA government for the glaring omissions of the Moily Commission Report and ULFA in the President's Address to both Houses of Parliament, and said the Centre had a secret understanding with the militant outfit. ''The mere omission of ULFA... was a clear indication that the government was hand-in-glove with the underground outfit,'' Mr Advani said, while speaking on the Motion of Thanks.....
