India should develop its own Cyber Security system

Bangalore, Mar 9 (UNI) The IT minds in India should help the country develop its own Cyber Security technology, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham University Vice Chancellor Venkat Rangan said today.

Speaking at a seminar on Cyber Security organsied jointly by International Telecom Union and Amrita University here, he said that advanced countries, who allowed collaborations in automobiles, will never part with their innovations in Cyber Security. The country should take a cue from Israel, which despite being a small country had overtaken the United States in developing technology on Cyber Security.

He said the field of Cyber Security was still at nascent stage in India, but offered great prospects for the Indian IT professionals.

The explosion in information sharing on line due to convergence of worldwide business and transactions on cyber media. Information was being exchanged in fine granuality making it very complex that had left no space for error. Hence cyber security assumed vital importance, he added.

Bangalore poised to become global aerospace hub

Cancer centres to be set up in all NE states

Aizawl, Mar 16 (UNI) The Union health ministry has decided to set up Regional Cancer Centres (RCCs) in each of the Northeastern states, including Sikkim, besides providing adequate funds to the existing cancer hospitals of the region. Health department sources said here today said that the Centre has chalked out a plan following confirming of increasing incidences of cancer cases in NE. As per the plan the first RCC will be set up in Guwahati while Rs two to three crore.....

Court convicts six people on murder of Cong. leader

Hubli, Mar 10 (UNI) First Additional Sessions Court here has convicted six people of murdering local Congress Leader Honnappa Ganadal. Judge B Durgappa who heard the case ordered six of the seven accused to undergo life imprisonment, yesterday. The seventh accused, being a minor, is undergoing trial at a different court. According to prosecution all the seven had murdered Mr Ganadal on July 31, 2004 with deadly weapons, when he had come to settle a problem at his sister's house. They.....
