HC rejects petition of Varanasi blast mastermind's father

Allahabad, Mar 9 (UNI) Allahabad High Court today dismissed a writ petition filed by father of Waliullah, the master mind of Varanasi blast, to transfer to CBI, the probe report of March 26, 2006 fled at Phoolpur police station, Allahabad.

A bench comprising Justices Amar Saran and R N Mishra dismissed the petition saying the same has been filed in a pre-planned manner and with ulterior motive.

Waliullah's father Mobibullah had also prayed to direct the police not to make nocturnal visits and disturb his privacy.

Dismissing the writ plea, the judges observed ''the matter is very serious. The allegations made against Waliullah are very serious...the courts will not shut their eyes towards the reality.

The courts are also duty bound to protect the security and sovereignity of the country and peace of society.

''The person, who is threat for law and order, should not be so released merely on the application of his relatives pleading him to be innocent. Police has collected credible evidence against Waliullah...each and every point given in the petition can be raised by Waliullah before the trial court,'' maintained the bench.

A counter affidavit was filed in the case by sub-inspector D K Singh, which contended that Waliullah was a mastermind in Varanasi blast case in which number of persons had lost their lives on March 7, 2006. Waliullah was absconding and ultimately was apprehended on April 5, 2006 in Lucknow. He was found in possession of 1.5 kg RDX and bomb detonator. A pistol was also found in his possession.

40 sovereigns of gold robbed in Seshadri express

Eluru, Mar 9 (UNI) Two women passengers were robbed of nearly 40 sovereigns of gold by an unidentified youth on the Kakinada-Bangalore Seshadri express at Nidadavolu railway station, near here, last night. Power supply to increase in rural areas: Chouhan

Shivpuri, MP, Feb 25 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan today said power supply will be increased in rural areas in future upon increase in power generation.
