Haryana gets Rs 22,000 cr investment in 2 years

Chandigarh, Mar 9 (UNI) An investment of Rs 22,000 crore has been made in Haryana during the past two years of the present government and an investment of Rs 53,000 crore is in the pipeline.

This was stated by Haryana Governor A R Kidwai while addressing the Budget Session of the State Assembly which began here today.

During this period, the state had also received Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) of Rs 1499 crore as against the total FDI of Rs 8100 crore received by the state since its inception, the Governor said.

''Today, Haryana has emerged as the most preferred destination as a result of the investor-friendly policies, better law and order situation and quality infrastructure available in the state,'' he said.

Mob raids hotel, damages vehicles, 10 people arrested

Srinagar, Mar 9 (UNI) Hundreds of people, including women, raided a local hotel here and damaged furniture and vehicles parked in the premises this afternoon. IMA Cadet dies during training

Dehradun, Mar 9 (UNI) An Indian Military Academy cadet today died during ammunition training when a grenade exploded in his hand. A training instructor was critically injured in the incident. According to police sources, cadet Beer Singh Tiwari, hailing from Ranchi died on the spot at during ammunition training at the IMA range when a grenade exploded in his hand.
