Guj Bar Counil to enhance welfare fund

Ahmedabad, Mar 9 (UNI) The Bar Council of Gujarat proposes to enhance funds meant for the welfare of the family of an advocate in the event of the member's death.

For this purpose, the Council has doubled the price of the welfare tickets, that it issues, to Rs 10, a press release here today said.

The Gujarat Bar Council issues the tickets in order to provide financial aid to a deceased member's family.

About 25 pc polling registered in Ahmednagar Dist

Ahmednagar, Mar 11 (UNI) About 25 per cent polling was registered till 1400 hrs from 14 talukas of the 75 Zilla Parishad seats and 150 Panchyat Samiti of the district. Talking to UNI District Collector Umakant Dangat said barring some incidents of bogus voting in Mandavgaon of the district, the polling has been peaceful. Gujarat HSC and SSC exams to begin from tomorrow

Ahmedabad, Mar 11 (UNI) As many as 6,69,060 students will take their SSC exams while 3,38,026 students will appears for the HSC exams beginning tomorrow. Of the total studens appearing for HSC exams, 58,398 are from the Science stream. Practical examinations of Physics, Chemistry and Biology will begin from April 17. Two labourers killed after van overturns in Beed Dist

Beed, Maharashtra, Mar 11 (UNI) Two sugarcane labourers were killed on the spot and another seriously injured when a van in which they were travelling turned turtle near Dharur, about 50 km from here, today. The mishap occurred at around 1000 hrs. The labourers were en route to cast their votes in the ZP-PS elections at Kothegavan, police said, adding that the injured have been admitted to the District Civil Hospital. UNI.....
