Govt making efforts to launch 'Prajapatham-2007'

Hyderabad, Mar 9 (UNI) The Andhra Pradesh Government is making all efforts to launch ''Prajapatham-2007'' in three phases and Chief Minister Dr Y S Rajasekhara Reddy would launch the programme on April 14.

This was decided in a review meeting chaired by Dr Reddy and attended by the State Revenue Minister D Prasada Rao, Agriculture Minister N Raghuveera Reddy, Labour and Transport Minister K Lakshminarayana, Minister for Information and Public Relations, Shabbir Ali and senior officials of the Planning and Energy.

The first phase of the programme would be organised in villages where the INDIRAMMA scheme was not being implemented, from April 14 to 21. The second phase would be from April 23 to 30 in the areas where the first phase of 'INDIRAMMA' programme was taken up and the third phase would be organised in the remaining areas.

Dr Reddy directed that the 'Prajapatham' officials and peoples' representatives should inspect SC, ST and BC hostels and check the facilities there during the programme besides inspection of 'INDIRAMMA Cheruvus' where the restoration of works of identified tanks were taken up under 'NREG' programme.

He also directed that since six more districts be included under NREGP. The people of these districts should also be sensitised about the benefits of the rural employment guarantee programme in a big way during the 'Prajapatham' The Chief Minister opined that the scheme of providing loans at subsidised interest to Self-Help Groups (SHGs) under 'Indira Kranthi Padham' (IKP) programme should be extended to lower middle-class and minority groups of urban areas also and at least 3,00,000 additional SHGs should be encouraged in the coming two years.

Fall in private investment in agriculture

New Delhi, Mar 9 (UNI) The government, quoting the Economic Survey 2005-06, today informed Rajya Sabha that the private investment in agriculture (at 1999-2000 prices) has gone down from Rs 38,215 crore in 2001-02 to Rs 30,532 crore (quick estimates) in 2004-05. 'No need for RoC sub centres due to MCA21 implementation'

New Delhi, Mar 9 (UNI) The government today said there was no need to open any more sub centres of Registrar of Companies (RoC) in Gujarat other than the one in Ahmedabad following implementation of the e-Governance programme called MCA21 last year.
