Director Prem, cine star Rakshita tie nuptial knot

Bangalore, Mar 9 (UNI) Noted film director Prem of super hit 'Jogi' fame and cine actress Rakshita known better for her dance sequence in 'Suntaragali' (whirlwind) song entered wedlock today at a ceremony here attended by actors and other prominent personalities of the State besdies thousands of fans.

The star couple sat throuigh the rituals under the Hindu tradition at a flower decked stage in the presence of their parents.

The star wedding saw thousands of their fans make a beeline to the wedding hall on the outskirts of the city and police had to make elaborate arrangements to keep them in order.

Dhanbad, Mar 16 (UNI) Former Jharkhand Chief Minister Arjun Munda today held the BCCL responsible for yesterday's incident in which ten people of two families were buried alive after land cave-in near the Kusunda coal mines. SUCI claims total success

Kolkata, Mar 16 (UNI) SUCI today alleged that more than 100 people were killed in the Nandigram firing and said they would observe martyr's day tomorrow as a mark of protest against the incident. Hailing the people for the ''overwhelming'' success of today's bandh, SUCI Secretary Provash Ghosh said here today that 451 party supporters, including 137 women, were arrested, while about 140 others seriously injured during violence across the state. High Court takes to task the BMP on spending to control dog menace

Sugar factories threaten to close down demanding Rs 300 subsidy

Bangalore, Mar 9 (UNI) Karnataka Sugar cane Producers Federation Chairman M R Desai today said that sugar factories will stop crushing beyond March 31 if the state government fails to pay Rs 300 per ton of sugar cane procured from the growers at support price of Rs 1100 per ton. Talking to newsmen here, he said that due to sharp fall in the prices of Sugar, the Factories were not in a position to crush more sugar cane for the season.....
