Delhi to have museum on Bhagat Singh

New Delhi, Mar 9 (UNI) Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit today said her government will build a museum dedicated to Bhagat Singh this year, which is his birth centenary.

Addressing a rally organised by All India Jat Mahasabha, she informed that the state government would also erect statue of Maharaja Surajmal behind the Red Fort and one of Raja Nahar Singh in Chandni Chowk.

MP and Filmstar Dharmendra and Rashtriya Lok Dal President Ajit Singh, who were present on the occasion, assured all help on the issue of reservation for people from the Jat community in government jobs.

Bhartiya Kisan Union President Mahendra Singh Tikait was also present at the rally.

Meanwhile, the term of All India Jat Mahasabha President Dara Singh was further extended by five years.

Japanese teacher killed in accident

Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh, Mar 9 (UNI) A Japanese teacher was killed and three others injured when their car collided with a bus at Sakri near here last night, police said. The police said Ms Tomako Batnave (40), who headed an eight-member delegation of Japanese students visiting India under an exchange programme, succumbed to her injuries at a hospital here. Life paralysed in Sogam in north Kashmir

Srinagar, Mar 9 (UNI) Life was today crippled in Sogam area of Lolab valley in north Kashmir due to complete shutdown in protest against alleged atrocities being committed by the Special Operation Group (SOG) of state police. Hundreds of people today took to streets at Sogam, about 90 km from here in north, raising anti-SOG slogans.
