Bharti's sister Bhawna deposes before court

New Delhi, Mar 9 (UNI) Bhawna Yadav, elder sister of key witness Bharti Yadav and prime accused Vikas Yadav in the Nitish Katara murder case today appeared and deposed before the court of Additional Session Judge Ravinder Kaur.

An application under section 311 CrPc summoning the witnesses was earlier filed by the public prosecutor saying Bharti Yadav had categorically denied, during her examination in the court, the use of cell phone bearing number 9810038469 and said she never received any call from Ms Neelam Katara, Bharat Diwakar, Guarav Gupta and Nitin Katara on February 16 and 17, 2002.

However, according to the prosecution, the cell phone company's claim that the mobile number in question was issued in the name of Ms Bhawna made her examination in the court essential for just and proper disposal of the case.

Bhawna Yadav deposed before the court that the said cell phone number belongs to her and on the day of the wedding it was kept with her driver. She said she called Nitin after finding some missed calls.

Additional Session Judge Ravinder Kaur adjourned the matter for March 17 for further examination.
