5 tribals selected for higher studies abroad

Bhopal, Mar 9 (UNI) Five tribal students from Madhya Pradesh have been selected for higher studies abroad on state government scholarship.

It is mandatory for the selected students to enrol abroad within two years or their selection will be treated as cancelled, official sources said today.

The students selected by a committee constituted by the state government include Miss Kanta Sonwane, Dr Umesh Kumar Patil, Ms Kirti Solanki, Mr Ashish Kumar Anand and Mr Raju Kumar Koria.

UFBU proposes indefinite strike from May 3

Hyderabad, Mar 9 (UNI) The United Forum of Bank Unions (UFBU) today announced that it would go on a three-day countrywide strike from March 28, and an indefinite strike from May 3 if the Centre and the Indian Banks Associaton (IBA) failed to concede employees' demands. Budget provides Rs 70 cr for IT sector

Thiruvananthapuram, Mar 9 (UNI) The Kerala budget for 2007-08 gives a major thrust to Information Technology-based industries by making a provision of Rs 70 crore for various it projects. Presenting the budget in the State Assembly today, Finance Minister T M Thomas Isaac said a sum of Rs 43.74 crore had been earmaked for various projects to be implemented by the IT Mission in association with local bodies. He said the 'Akshaya' IT literacy programme being implemented by the IT Mission.....
