Wockardt expands super speciality care to women health

Bangalore, Mar 08 (UNI) Wockhardt Hospital launched a dedicated Women's Care Programme on the occasion of International Women Day 2007 here today.

It has earmarked a 12-bedded neonatal Intensive Care Unit, a nursery, 13 LDR (Labour, Delivery and Recovery) rooms, and consultation suites, a press release said.

It was launched by Ms Priyanka Upendra cine actress and wife of Kannada film star Mr Upendra.

Dr Lloyd Nazareth, Head of Wockhardt Hospitals said "we have designed the Women's Health Specialty that it provides more comfortable and comprehensive facilities for patients and families".

The Women's Care Programme offers exclusive ante-natal lessons for mother-to-be that include yoga, diet, breast feeding, regular ante natal consultations.

Besides these, the programme also offers exclusive clinics for menopausal women, post-menopause osteoporosis cases, depression and stress, preventive medicine for adolescents, counseling for adolescents and fertility.

Manipal Hospital launches free dialysis scheme for poor

Bangalore, Mar 8 (UNI) Manipal Hospital, a subsidiary of Manipal Health Systems, celebrated the World Kidney Day today by launching a free dialysis scheme for the economically weaker sections of the society in commemoration of one of its patients - Mrs Prema Devi Malimath. Launching the 'Mrs Prema Devi Malimath Memorial Free Dialysis Scheme' at the hospital here, Karnataka Lok Ayukta Mr Justice Santhosh Hegde lauded the hospital authorities for starting such a scheme for the people who could not afford.....

MP set aside Rs 16 cr for NHs

Bhopal, Mar 16 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh Public Works Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya today informed the Assembly that the government set aside Rs 16 crore for maintenance of national highways. During Question Hour, Ms Alka Jain (BJP) raised the issue of the poor condition of national highways passing across Katni district. ''The Centre is not disbursing funds for their maintenance,'' explained Mr Vijayvargiya. UNI.....

Agilent Technologies to invest 35 Million Dollars in India

Bangalore, Mar 8 (UNI) Agilent Technologies, world's premier measurement company and a technology leader in communications, electronics, Life Sciences and Chemical analysis, will expand its operations in India with an investment of US Dollar 35 million. Announcing the setting up of a Centre for Research and Development here, Agilent Technologies Senior Vice-President Chris van Ingen told newspersons that the investment would be made in two years and it might not only be in R and D. The headcount would be increased.....
