Two police personnel suspended in Bihar

Bettiah, Mar 8 (UNI) Sub-Inspector Rameshwar Singh and a police personnel Chandrakant Singh posted at Bettiah Nagar police station were suspended for dereliction of duty in Bettiah of West Champaran district today.

Deputy Inspector General of Champaran range S K Singhal here said the said police personnel defied orders given to the town police station to remove traffic jam near Bettiah railway station recently.

He said several examinees appearing for Class X standard examination could not reach examination centres in time on that particular day as the mobile vehicle did not arrive at the spot.

Mr Singhal said the officer in-charge of the police station in his explanation stated that both the police personnel had defied the orders.

Govt assures action if irregularities in appointment in university

Patna, Mar 8 (UNI) Bihar's agriculture minister Narendra Singh today said strong action would be taken if any irregularity was found in the appointments of the Rajendra Agricultural University. An inquiry was already underway into the appointments of the university. Replying in the state Assembly Mr Singh said that a committee had been constituted to probe into the appointments made earlier.
