Travel portal offers spl low-cost fares

Chennai, Mar 8 (UNI) Leading online travel portal www.ghumo.com has secured special fares on several domestic sectors from full service airlines and low cost carriers.

Now the budget travellers can travel on budget fares, lower than published fares, even on full service carriers.

These special fares are marketed as 'Ghumo Fares' and travellers can avail it and book tickets upto April 15.

According to portal Director Ananth Narasimhan, its customers can now buy tickets at the lowest rates-- Chennai-Bangalore (Rs 250), Chennai-Hyderabad (Rs 235), Chennai-Trivandrum (Rs 1,025), Chennai- Coimbatore (Rs 750), Chennai-Mumbai (Rs 1,500), Chennai-Kolkata (Rs 1,500) and Chennai-Delhi Rs 1,500.

However, a fixed tax of Rs 1,125 would be charged to all the airfare rates, which was applicable for return sectors too.

The special fares could be availed on any of the scheduled airlines, including Kingfisher Airlines, Jet Airways, Air Sahara, Paramount Airways and low cost carriers.

However, Ghumo tickets are non-cancellable and non-refundable.

The tickets will be e-mailed to the prospective traveller within 48 hours of booking.

Govt forms committee to ensure transparent administration

Chennai, Mar 8 (UNI) The Tamil Nadu Government has constituted a committee to give necessary recommendations to remove red tapism and ensure transparent and corruption-free administration. The ten-member Administrative Reforms Committee would be headed by former Madras High Court Judge A K Rajan, an official release said here today.
