TDP members suspended from House

Hyderabad, Mar 8 (UNI) Twenty-six TDP members, including the Leader of the Opposition N Chandrababu Naidu, were suspended for two days for disrupting the proceedings of the Andhra Pradesh Assembly over the purchase of assigned lands to the poor by a relative of Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy in Denduluru, in West Godavari district for establishment of a factory.

The Opposition earlier forced the adjournment of the House for 15 minutes as soon as it met, demanding debate on their adjournment motion setting aside the listed business.

Speaker K R Suresh Reddy named the Opposition TDP members as they were adamant on a discussion over the alleged acquisition of 140 acres of 'assigned' lands from the poor, by Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy's brother-in-law and Kadapa Mayor Ravindra Reddy for setting up a fertiliser factory at a cost of Rs 150 crore, as reported in a news paper.

As the TDP members continued to raise slogans even after the House met after the adjournment, remaining in the Well of the House, the Legislative Affairs Minister K Rosaiah moved a resolution for the suspension of the TDP members.

As the TDP members did not leave the House even after their suspension, they were lifted out of the House by the Marshals.
