Ravindranath appointed as Director of Andhra Bank

Hyderabad, Mar 8 (UNI) The Union Finance Ministry has appointed T Ravindranath as workmen employee Director of the Board of Directors of Andhra Bank for three years.

Mr Ravindranath is the General Secretary of the All India Andhra Bank Award Employees Union and also the trustee of the Employees Provident Fund and Pension Fund of the bank.

All India Andhra Bank Award Employees Union President B S R Mohan Reddy in a statement said, "Mr Ravindranath's appointment as the board Director would strengthen the reach of banking services to the poor and common people".

Lucknow, Mar 13 (UNI) A new software has been developed for the forthcoming assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh for random deployment of poll officials. National Informatics Centre, UP Unit has developed Election Personnel Deployment System (EPDS). The software is all set to take away the burden of deputing people on poll duties from the district magistrates (DMs), according to state Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Anuj Kumar Bishnoi. Upper castes comprise major chunk of BSP candidates for UP

Lucknow, Mar 13 (UNI) Upper castes comprise a major chunk -139- of the Bahujan Samaj Party candidates for the 403 Assembly seats in Uttar Pradesh. 13 of 200 apprentice teachers arrested for picketing

Machilipatnam, Mar 8 (UNI) Police today arrested 13 teachers, including the seceretary of the union when about 200 of them picketed the Krishna District Collector's Office, demanding abolition of apprenticeship.
