NIFT Examination rescheduled to April 15

New Delhi, Mar 8 (UNI) The date of examination for the National Institution of Fashion Technology (NIFT) Admission Test for the regular under-graduate and post-graduate programmes has now been scheduled on April 15 instead of April 1, 2007.

NIFT Spokesperson Pavan Kaushik informed that the changes have been made due to launching of new centre at Rae Bareli, Uttar Pradesh on February 13 and also due to requests received from students for changing of examination date due to clashing of other exams.

The new centre has created additional 60 seats in Fashion Design and Accessory design programmes.

NIFT, through NIFT Act 2006 has been conferred statutory status by the Parliament, making NIFT an Institute of excellence that can award its own degrees and other academic excellence, according to a NIFT statement here today.

Nagpur, Mar 12 (UNI) The Congress has emerged as the single largest party in as many as five of the seven Zilla Parishads (ZP) in Vidarbha region which went to polls yesterday. The Congress has emerged as the single largest party in Wardha, Chandrapur, Amravati, Yavatmal and Buldhana, while Bharatiya Janata Party has improved its last time's performance and bagged maximum number of seats in Nagpur ZP. Leading TV news channels form association

New Delhi, Mar 8 (UNI) Seven leading television news and current affairs channels have come together to form an association, the News Broadcasters Association (NBA). They say the aim of the move is to create an environment in which broadcasters can play an effective and meaningful role in the social, cultural and economic life of the country. ''The NBA will also help members to chart a course that facilitates news broadcasters in responding to the rapid socio-economic changes in the country.....
