Lankan Tamil taken into custody

Nagapattinam, Tamil Nadu, Mar 8 (UNI) Police today took into custody a Sri Lankan Tamil here for allegedly staying without any valid travel document or permission.

Police said, Immanuel of Jaffna had been working with a private rice mill here for the past many months without informing of his stay to the authorities.

Acting on a tip off, police took him into custody and were investigating if he had any any links with the banned Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE).

Delimitation Commission hears people

Visakhapatnam, Mar 8 (UNI) The Delimitation Commission of India (DCI) led by Chief Election Commissioner of India (ECI) N Gopalaswamy today said the draft report on delimitation of constituencies for Lok Sabha and State Assembly will be submitted in a month's time. Mumbai, Mar 15 (UNI) Former Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee President Ranjit Deshmukh is all set to contest the Ramtek Lok Sabha bypoll as an independent candidate with the support of Sena-BJP.
