JIPMER Committee to observe fast on Mar 11

Puducherry, Mar 8 (UNI) The Anti-conversion Action Committee of the JIPMER employees will observe a fast near the Venkatasubbareddiyar statue here on March 11 to protest against the Centre's move to convert JIPMER into an autonomous institution.

Union Health and Family Welfare minister Anbumani Ramdoss had reportedly moved the Bill to convert JIPMER into an autonomous institution in the Rajya Sabha yesterday.

The Action Committee of the employees along with Anti-conversion Peoples Action Committee have already organised a series of agitations, including a 22-day strike before the commencement of the previous session of the Parliament.

Review meeting for 5th, 6th phase poll on March 19, 22

Lucknow, Mar 15 (UNI) The Election Commission will hold review of poll preparation for the fifth and sixth phase of Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections on March 19 and 22 respectively. Self-financing colleges to dilute medical education

Chennai, Mar 8 (UNI) The self-financing private medical colleges in the country are diluting the medical education at the risk of patients, according to President of National Board of Examinations (NBE) A Rajasekaran.
