CPI(Maoist) plan to observe Women Day foiled by police

Bokaro, Mar 8 (UNI) Jharkhand police foiled Maoist's plan to celebrate 'World Women Day' at the naxal affected areas here today.

Superintendent of Police Priya Dubey said they had intelligence inputs on groups' preparation.

''Separate teams of CRPF, Special Task Force (STF) and local police conducted frequent raids in the naxal dominated areas like Gomia, Kathara, Nawaduh, IEL Bokaro Thermal, Jhumra Pahar, Kanchkiro, Budgudda district,'' the SP said.

Ms Dubey said police had information about ultras presence in those areas and thus raids were conducted after cordonning the area.

On March six police recovered two land mines weighing four kg each, explosives and inflammables from the Jhumra jill areas.

On March 4, the banned outfit had gunned down Jamshedpur MP Sunil Mahto at Baguria in East Singbhum district.

Godrej aims to double AC sales, wipe out old models

RPG Group to pump in Rs 2,700cr to set up 4,000 retail stores

Gurgaon, Mar 8 (UNI) The Goenka's-owned RPG Group will infuse Rs 2,500-Rs 2,700 crore for setting up 4,000 retail outlets, including 1,000 Spencers stores, across the country by 2011. ''We will invest Rs 2,500-2,700 crore on our retail expansion plans within the next four-five years.
