AMU and CHHTO sign MoU for bilateral educational cooperation

Dubai, March 8 (UNI) The Persian Language Research Centre of Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Research Centre of Iran's Cultural Heritage, Handicraft and Tourism Organisation (CHHTO) to expand bilateral educational and cultural cooperation.

The MoU was signed by AMU official Azarmidokht Safavi and the Iranian centre head Taha Hashemi here yesterday.

Under the programme, exchange of scientific and cultural periodicals, books, films and CDs will take place between both the sides.

The MoU will also cover publication of prominent Persian manuscripts and books as well as research material on Iran and India.

Research on mutual impacts of Indian and Persian languages, exchange of ideas and expertise in the fields of fine arts, architecture and music, scientific cooperation for restoration of ancient monuments, protection and revival of manuscripts belonging to AMU archives will be covered as well.

AMU's Persian collection is considered a major Islamic resource reflecting religion and the heritage of India and Iran.

Haryana leads in crime update on website

Chandigarh, Mar 13 (UNI) Haryana police has created a record in the country by entering its 100 per cent data of crime in the website of daily crime reporting (DCR) system of the National Crime Records Bureau. Iran-India ''peace pipeline'' to strengthen relations

Dubai, Mar 11 (UNI) Iranian Foreign Minister Manuchehr Mottaki has said construction of the ''peace pipeline'' from his country to India marks a new chapter in the two countries' relations. Elaborating on the measures to transfer gas from Iran to India, he said the recent trilateral summit among India, Iran and Pakistan, is the beginning of a new relationship between Iran and the Indian subcontinent, Tehran Times reported today.
