7 killed, 34 injured in road accident in Uttarakhand

Dehradun, Mar 8 (UNI) At least 7 people including two women, were killed and 34 others injured when a bus plunged into a river yesterday at Satputli in Pauri district of Uttarakhand, official sources said today.

According to the Disaster Management Control Room, the bus was on its way to Chargarh from Kotdwar when the driver lost control of the vehicle and it plunged into Nayarnadi river near Satputli.

While five people drowned to death, two others succumed to their injuries at Satputli hospital, where the injured have been admitted.

15 CRPF personnel injured in Kashmir accident

Srinagar, Mar 8 (UNI) At least 15 Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel were injured in a road accident in north Kashmir today, a police spokesman said. He said a vehicle carrying CRPF personnel over turned at Wangipora, Sumbal, causing injuries to 15 personnel. The injured have been hospitalised, he added. A scooterist was injured when he was hit by a speedy vehicle at Parimpora on Srinagar-Uri road in the day. UNI.....

Srinagar, Mar 8 (UNI) Four militants of Pakistan based Lashker-e- Toiba (LeT) were among six people killed in the Kashmir valley overnight. Giving details about last night's fierce encounter Superintendent of Police (SP), Handwara, Dr Haseeb Mughal said a tip off was received from locals that some militants were hiding in the woods at Rajwar in the frontier district of Kupwara. Punjab to float Rs 300 crore loan for 10 years tenure
