235 OTA cadets to be commissioned into Indian Army

Chennai, Mar 8 (UNI) About 235 cadets from Officers Training Academy (OTA) at St Thomas Mount here would be commissioned into Indian Army, after their successful training.

According to the army spokesperson, the passing out parade will be held on March 17. After the arduous and rigorous training, a total of 162 gentlemen and 73 lady cadets would be commissioned into the Army as Lieutenant.

Lt Gen Aditya Singh, PVSM, AVSM, ADC, GOC-in-C Southern Command would review the parade and give away the awards to the meritorious cadets.

Prior to the passing out parade, the medal presentation ceremony to meritorious cadets by the Commandant of OTA would also take place on March 15. It would be followed by a band concert presented by the Military Bands of OTA.

Combined display would also be held the next day.

Major General Nayanar visits Garo hills to meet war veterans

Shillong, Mar 11 (UNI) Major General Vinod Nayanar, GOC 101 Area and Colonel S N Rai, Commandant, Assam Regimental Centre had visited the Garo Hills to meet the war veterans here. During his visit on Mar 8, Major General Nayanar interacted with a large number of civilian dignitaries and veterans of Tura, organized under the aegis of Assam Regimental Centre. Indian Bank revises FCNR (B), NRE interest rates

New Delhi, Mar 2 (UNI) Indian Bank today said it has revised interest rates on FCNR (B) and NRE deposits effective from yesterday. For FCNR (B) deposits, the revised interest rate has been fixed at 4.99 per cent for deposits of one year and above but less than two years; 4.80 per cent for two years and above but less than three years; 4.73 per cent for three years and above but less than four years; 4.72 per cent for four.....
