Woman alleges rape by father, brother

New Delhi, Mar 7 (UNI) Police have registered a case against three people, including father and brother of a 24-year-old woman, who alleged that she had been continuously raped by them for the past 11 years.

Pratima, who married her tutor Ravi Sharma in year 2000, in her complaint alleged that her father Surendra, brother Prashant and uncle Neeraj had been raping her since she was 13.

Meanwhile, her father, who lives in Vikas Puri, said the family was regularly fleeced by Ravi and of late had demanded Rs 120,000 which they refused.

While the police have registered the case under Section 376 in Hari Nagar, no arrests have been made as they are verifying the allegations.

Srinagar, Mar 7 (UNI) For the first time in the history of Jammu and Kashmir judiciary, the state High Court has ordered for prosecution of three court officials in a land forgery case. Bashir Ahmad Khan, the Chief Justice of Jammu and Kashmir High Court, in his capacity as Inspector General of Registration has passed the prosecution orders against three district court officials, identified as Arshid Hussain Zehgir, Ali Mohammad Wani, and Mohammad Ayden Phambu and two civilians-- Mushtaq Ahmed Dhar.....

Srinagar, Mar 7 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir High Court has quashed the detention of twelve peoples, including a senior leader of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF), detained under Public Safety Act (PSA). A single bench comprising Justice Bashir Ahmad Kirmani directed the government to release detenues if they are not involved in any other case. The court gave the order after hearing counsels of both the sides. Those whose releases were ordered included one of the founder leader of JKLF.....

Women appeal to militants to eschew from violence

Imphal, Mar 1(UNI) The Ngarian(Raenghzaeng) Women Society in Churachandpur district has appealed to the militants and the security personnel not to attack the villagers or carry out attacks within the vicinity of any village. The society alleged that the ambush by unidentified militants on February 24 led to the death of 16 security personnel. It appealed to all the armed groups not to repeat such attacks in civilian areas or in the periphery of the village. Meanwhile, police said.....
