Uttam Galva JV to set up steel mill in Ghana

New Delhi, Mar 7 (UNI) Uttam Galva Steels Ltd has formed a joint venture with UK-based trading company Liberty Commodities to build a new steel re-roller mill in Ghana with an investment of 20 million dollars.

The plant will include a 75,000 tonnes per year hot-dip galvanising line and a 2,00,000-2,50,000 tonnes per year cold reversing mill to supply it was cold rolled coil (CRC), a company statement said today.

The two companies have set up a new company Ghana Iron and Steel Co (Gisco) from which hot-dipped galvanised (HDG) line is expected to start production by the end of this year, while the 40 million dollars cold rolling mill is planned for next year.

In the short term, until the cold mill is built, CRC will be exported to Ghana from India and Bangladesh.

Ranbaxy's Terapia gets approval for 20 new drugs

New Delhi, Mar 7 (UNI) Generic drug maker Ranbaxy Laboratories Ltd today said its Romanian unit, Terapia, has received market authorisation to sell 20 new products to be launched in the coming months. Shell, Petronas, Total in race for Pak LNG terminal deal

New Delhi, Mar 7 (UNI) Global oil majors including UK's Shell, Malaysia's state-run Petronas, France's Total and Italy's Eni are in fray to grab the deal for Pakistan's first liquefied natural gas (LNG) import terminal. Shinde denies Dabhol block III sale

New Delhi, Mar 7 (UNI) The government today ruled out the sale of the 700 mw capacity unit of the Dabhol Power Plant in Ratnagiri District of Maharashtra. ''There were discussions regarding the privatisation at official levels. But now, no private player is coming in. We will run the plant,'' Power Minister Sushilkumar Shinde said.
