UP govt sends panels for change in police chief of Lucknow

Lucknow, Mar 7(UNI) Uttar Pradesh government has sent a panel of four names to the Election Commission for selecting the new senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Lucknow.

According to sources, present SSP Rajiv Krishan would be shifted out of the post as Lucknow his home district and under the EC rules no official related to the election duty can work in his home town.

The panel of four names sent to the EC comprises of Deepesh Juneja, Jyoti Narayan, V K Singh and Braj Bhushan Sharma.

Sources said the EC will select the news incumbent ''very soon''.

The state government will also send a panel of names to replace DIG Agra and Meerut. The commission wanted to shift the DIGs following some complaints against them.

Police looks for escaped LeT terrorists in nursing homes

Lucknow, Mar 7 (UNI) The Uttar Pradesh police is looking for the injured Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) terrorists in city nursing homes and various other towns after it was confirmed that one of the two ultras received bullet injuries on his left shoulder. Badal retains Home among 10 Ministries, Manpreet gets Finance

Rajasthan House adjourned over water pact with Punjab

Jaipur, Mar 7 (UNI) Rajasthan Assembly was adjourned four times today after unruly scenes were witnessed over water sharing agreement with Punjab. After loud scenes during Question Hour, the House was adjourned for 42 minutes till 1200 hrs. Thereafter the House was adjourned twice, once for half an hour and later for 15 minutes.
