TDP forces adjournment of AP House

Hyderabad, Mar 7 (UNI) Andra Pradesh Speaker K R Suresh Reddy today adjourned the House for 15 minutes as members of main opposition TDP created bedlam over their demand for a debate on irregularities in the allocation of assigned land for distribution particularly to minority community in Srikakulam district.

The Speaker also disallowed similar motions by TRS, CPI(M) and CPI on the distribution of assigned lands to the poor.

The motion moved by the BJP on Handloom workers and other adjournment motion by Janata Party on rise in inflation was also disallowed by the Speaker.

Mr Reddy's efforts to pacify the opposition members that the issues could be raised during the debate on demands went in vain.

He said the adjournment motions could be taken after Question Hour for which the TDP did not agree.

As the TDP members raised a ruckus, the Speaker adjourned the House for 15 minutes.

Scientist urges Rly ministry to take action on tender misuse

Chennai, Mar 7 (UNI) An NRI Scientist and the CEO of the Australia-based Zumaaks Toilet Private Limited, S Kirupa, today urged the Union Railway Ministry to take action against the alleged irregularities that took place in awarding the tender by the railway board for introducing environment-friendly biological toilets in the railway coaches. Govt sanctions Rs 448.91 crore for land development:Minister

Hyderabad, Mar 7 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Minister for Rural Development D Srinivas today informed the Assembly that the government had allocated Rs 448.91 crore to develop the lands assigned to the poor under the 'Indira Prabha' programme. In a written reply to a question by Ch Rakeswara Rao, T Devender Goud (TDP) and other MLAs, the Minister said the amount would be spent to develop 3,78,690 acres of land assigned to 2,67,368 families. NABARD was assisting the scheme since 2004-05,.....
