Spl classes for students with less attendance: CM

Hyderabad, Mar 7 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy assured the Assembly that the government would ensure students of Intermediate, who fell short of the required 60 per cent attendance, would not lose an academic year as the government would conduct special classes for them.

Responding to the anxiety expressed by Opposition members that over 10,000 students were being denied hall tickets due to shortage of attendance, Dr Reddy yesterday said the government would conduct special coaching classes for such students from March to May this year and conduct examination in June.

He also clarified that the students would not be treated as private candidates or as appearing for supplementary examinations.

Modhwadia accuses Modi of painting a false picture of Gujarat

Dead man returns to stop cremation

Raipur, Mar 7 (UNI) Joy overcame despair when a man who had been mistakenly taken for dead returned home just at the time of his ''cremation''. Deepak Bhattacharya, a resident of Tikrapara, was confirmed dead when his brother-in-law Kalyan and few neighbours identified a body during an inquiry after it was fished out from Buda Talab, Raipur's largest reservoir, by police.
