Six held for gambling at Jamnagar, booty worth Rs 2.26 lakh seized

Jamnagar, Mar 7 (UNI) The police have arrested 6 people for gambling in a raid carried out at the Jodhpur Upadhyay village, about 15 km from Kalyanpur, and seized a booty worth Rs 2.26 lakh.

Police today said a team, led by Kalyanpur Police Sub Inspector (PSI) J K Pandya, raided the house of Kanabhai Meraman late last evening. In the raid, Meraman and five others were apprehended and Rs 46,000 cash seized from them.

They also seized five motorcycles worth Rs 1,70,000 and five mobile phones valued at Rs 10,000. The total seizure was of Rs 2,26,000, police added.

Removal of SAD on edible oils opposed

Decide applications under Protection of Women: HC

Mumbai, Mar 7 (UNI) The Bombay High Court today directed all the lower courts in Maharashtra to entertain and decide interim and ex-party applications under section 23 of the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act, 2005.
