Rotarians conduct survey of polio cases

Visakhapatnam, Mar 7 (UNI) The Rotary International Presidents and office bearers today visited Pedajalaripeta area and conducted a survey of polio cases, as part of a rapid polio plus programme to be conducted in the city, in the third week of March.

Rotarians said, the presence of wild polio virus was connfirmed after finding the symptoms in a two and a-half-year-old boy, P Krishna alias Aravind. The sanitary conditions in the area was very bad and pointed out that it was too early to confirm the source of the virus.

The National Polio Surveillance Project (NPSP) team also reviewed the situation here yesterday.

74 students fall ill after taking noon meal

Villupuram, Tamil Nadu, Mar 8 (UNI) As many as 74 students, including 47 girls of the Pachayat Union Middle School fell ill after consuming mid-day meals in their school at Mamanthur Village near here today.
