PT activists stage demo to fill lecturers post in Govt colleges

Chennai, Mar 7 (UNI) Activists of Puthiya Thamizhagam (PT) today staged a slogan shouting demonstration here, urging the Tamil Nadu Government to fill the 525 backlog vacancies of the lecturers post in Government Colleges at one go.

The stir led by party founder-president Dr K Krishnasamy, also demanded that the Government should earmark an exclusive fund in the ensuing state budget for filling the existing three lakh vacancies in various state government departments.

Similar demonstrations were held in all the district headquarters in the state, the PT leader said in a release.

Water Supply Sewerage Act to be amended: Minister

Thiruvananthapuram, Mar 7 (UNI) As the Kerala Water Supply Sewerage Act-1986 was inadequate to check the misuse and illegal tapping of drinking water, the state government was taking measures to amend it, Water Resources minister N K Premachandran told the Assembly today. Scientist urges Rly ministry to take action on tender misuse

Chennai, Mar 7 (UNI) An NRI Scientist and the CEO of the Australia-based Zumaaks Toilet Private Limited, S Kirupa, today urged the Union Railway Ministry to take action against the alleged irregularities that took place in awarding the tender by the railway board for introducing environment-friendly biological toilets in the railway coaches. Talking to newspersons here, he said that due to irregularities, the Indian Railway administration would suffer a huge loss of hundreds of crores of rupees. Mr Kirupa said.....
