Nine Kg heroin recovered along Punjab border

Ferozepur, Mar 7 (UNI) The BSF recovered nine Kg heroin worth Rs nine crore in the international market, near Bahadurke Border Out Post (BOP) in Fazilka sector of the district last night, BSF sources today said.

According to the BSF sources,besides heroin fake Indian currency worth Rs 1.12 lakh was also recovered after a brief exchange of fire with a group of intruders from Pakistan. They managed to escape back across the border leaving behind the heroin and the currency which was packed in bags.

A case has been registered in this connection with the Punjab police. Further investigations are on.

Tiruchirapalli, Mar 7 (UNI) Continuing its crackdown, the Tamil Nadu 'Q' branch police is believed to have seized more than 3.5 tonnes of iron ball bearings meant for the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) from a local soap manufacturing company at Venkatachalapathy Nagar in neighbouring Perambalur district last night. Centre effects minor bureaucratic reshuffle
