MP bypolls: Job cards allowed

Bhopal, Mar 7 (UNI) If a voter does not have a voter's identity card he or she may flash job cards, issued on or before December 31, 2006 under the Madhya Pradesh Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme, during polling on March 8 for byelections to Gwalior and Sidhi (ST) parliamentary constituencies and Udaypura assembly seat, State Election Office sources said quoting an Election Commission directive.

Other 18 alternatives included passports, driving licenses, Permanent Account Number cards, property documents, Below Poverty Line cards and kisan credit cards.

Delimitation to be finalised in July

Tirupati, Feb 6 (UNI) Delimitation Commisssion Chairman Kuldeep Singh today said the final draft of delimitation would be announced in July. Addressing the media, after the meeting, Mr Singh said several representations and valuable suggetions on 'delimitation' were received from various political parties and the public of Rayalaseema and coastal districts. The final decision would be taken only after discussing with associated members - MPs and MLAs, he added. UNI.....

3 nominations filed for Rajnandgaon by-poll

Rajnandgaon, Chhattisgarh, Mar 8 (UNI) Three candidates have filed their nominations so far for the Lok Sabha by-election in Rajnandgaon constituency of Chhattisgarh where polling is slated for March 29, official sources said. BSP nominee Balkrishna Agrawal and independent candidate Ajuram Chandravanshi filed their nomination yesterday. Earlier, Gondwana Ganatantra Party's Ramesh Thakur had filed his nomination on March 5. The last date for filing nomination is March 10. The by-poll was necessitated as sitting BJP MP Pradeep Gandhi was disqualified.....

MP voters boycott poll in two booths

Shivpuri, MP, Mar 8 (UNI) Voters of two polling centres in Karaira assembly segment in Shivpuri district today boycotted polling for the by-election in Gwalior Lok Sabha constituency. The boycott was to protest the ''government apathy'' towards their land-related problems due to the proximity to Karaira sanctuary. ''Not a single vote was cast in Ramgarha's and Behganwa polling centre, while only one voter turned up at Nainagir booth,'' District Collector Manohar Agwani said. Earlier, residents of two dozen villages had announced.....
